How to Get the Portal Tool
To get the Portal Tool, you need to complete all of Sensei Moro's quests. You'll find him right next to the spawn area, so you won't have to go far. Press E to talk to him and start the questline. His tutorial quests cover the basics of mining, forging, enhancing, and using runes, and you need to complete every single one of them.
Once you're done with the quests, head to the Wizard at the end of the island. He's inside a house, and the road leading to him is on the left before you enter the cave. This is also the same Wizard who handles race rolls in The Forge. Talk to him, and he'll hand over the Portal Tool.
Keep in mind that you'll most likely receive the Portal Tool between levels 7 and 9, which means you'll still need to grind a bit more before you can actually use it, since the Forgotten Kingdom requires level 10 to access.

How to Use the Portal Tool
Once you have the Portal Tool and you've hit level 10, using it is straightforward. Find the Portal Tool in your hotbar and press the designated button to bring it out. Place it on the ground and make sure it shows a green highlight to confirm valid placement. If it stays red, move to a different spot until it turns green.
Keep in mind that if you were recently in combat, either attacking or getting attacked, you won't be able to place the portal. Wait until you're out of combat before trying again.
Once the portal is placed, walk toward it and press E to open the island menu. Select the Forgotten Kingdom from the list and click the Teleport button. If the Forgotten Kingdom doesn't appear, you haven't reached level 10 yet.
What's in the Forgotten Kingdom
The Forgotten Kingdom is the first true second island in The Forge. It has stronger enemies, higher-tier ores like Basalt and Volcanic Rock, and a second Miner Fred shop stocked with mid- and late-game pickaxes such as Cobalt, Mythril, Lightite, Magma, and Demonic pickaxes.
The village sits inside a large autumn forest and features many important NPCs, including Sensei Moro, Wo, Maria, Miner Fred, Greedy Cay, the Enhancer, the Runemaker, and Captain Rowan. There's also a cave called the Ruined Cave at the top of the mountain.
