Steal a Brainrot is one of the biggest Roblox games right now, and a big part of its appeal comes from customization. Your base isn't just a place to store and grow your brainrots; it's also how other players judge your progress the moment they walk into your server. That's where base skins come in.
There are currently 34 base skins in the game, split across five categories: Classic, Mutation, OG, Admin, and Seasonal. Some are easy to unlock within your first few hours of playing, while others, like OG skins, require owning specific rare brainrots and can trade for hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Each category has its own unlock method, whether that's completing an Index, joining a limited event, or trading with other players.

Classic, Mutation, and OG skins aren't tradable as items, so completing the Index yourself (or borrowing brainrots from other players to fill it temporarily) is the only way in. Seasonal skins are the exception, since they can be traded even after their event ends. OG skins are the rarest of the bunch since you need to own and place the actual OG brainrot, and some of those, like the Headless Horseman, trade for thousands on their own.

Can You Trade Base Skins?

Most base skins can't be traded directly. Classic, Mutation, and OG skins have to be unlocked yourself, whether through completing an Index or placing a specific OG brainrot in your base.
Seasonal skins are the exception. Once unlocked, they can be traded with other players, even after the event ends.
The workaround for non-tradable skins is borrowing brainrots from other players to complete the Index, then unlocking the skin yourself.

If trading isn't an option for the skin you want, the fastest route is usually borrowing brainrots from other players to complete the Index yourself.
