How to Get the Dark Fragment
The only way to get a Dark Fragment is by defeating Darkbeard at the Dark Arena in the Second Sea. To summon him, you need the Fist of Darkness first.
You can get the Fist of Darkness by defeating a Sea Beast, which has a 2.5% drop chance, or by finding one in a chest that spawns every 4 hours in the Second Sea. Once you have it, head to the Dark Arena northeast of the Kingdom of Rose and walk into the altar at the center to summon Darkbeard.
Note that you cannot store the Fist of Darkness in your backpack, meaning you lose it on death, so go straight to the arena after obtaining it.
Darkbeard is a level 1000 boss with 305,000 HP, so make sure you are at least level 1000 before attempting the fight. Buddha or Magma fruit makes the fight easier, and having Godhuman or True Triple Katana helps a lot. Fighting with a group is also recommended.
You must deal at least 10% damage to Darkbeard to qualify for the drop. Defeating him rewards you with 1,500 Fragments, three levels, and one Dark Fragment.
