How to Make Ice Cream in Grow a Garden
Learn how to make ice cream in Grow a Garden, including all recipes by rarity and how to use the Cooking Kit.

Grow a Garden added cooking as part of its Cooking Event update in August 2025, and ice cream quickly became one of the more popular recipes to make. Since then, the developers removed Chris P. Bacon from the map and converted the old cooking cauldron into a cosmetic item called the Cooking Kit, which you place in your own garden. Cooking is now a permanent part of the game, so knowing how to make ice cream is still relevant.
Ice cream comes in multiple rarity tiers, and the rarity of your finished dish depends on the ingredients you use, so knowing the right combinations matters if you want better results.
In this article, we'll explore every ice cream recipe in Grow a Garden, the ingredients you need, and how to cook it step by step.

How to Get the Cooking Kit

Before cooking anything in Grow a Garden, you need a Cooking Kit. The developers converted the old cooking cauldron into the Cooking Kit, an interactive cosmetic item that you place in your own garden plot.
There are two ways to get one. You can either earn it by completing Common, Rare, or Mythical tier achievements or purchase it directly from the Cosmetics Shop for 1,000,000 Sheckles.
The fastest route is through the Common achievements. To complete the Common Achievements challenge, you need to do the following:
- Shovel 100 plants
- Harvest 200 carrots
- Gift one carrot
- Sell 500 strawberries
- Gift five strawberries
Once you've completed all the tasks, click the "Claim Reward" button, and the Cooking Kit will be added to your cosmetics inventory automatically. From there, open your cosmetics inventory, find the Cooking Kit, and place it anywhere in your garden to start cooking.

How to Cook Ice Cream

Before cooking ice cream, you need to have the Cooking Kit placed in your garden. You can get one by completing all five of the Common achievements in the Garden Guide, though it is also awarded for completing the Rare and Mythical achievements. Once you have it, open your cosmetics inventory, find the Cooking Kit, and place it anywhere in your garden plot.
With that set up, here is how to cook ice cream:
- Gather your ingredients and hold one of them in your hand.
- Walk up to your Cooking Kit.
- Press E to add the item to the cooking list. The board on the left will show how long it will take to cook.
- Repeat for each remaining ingredient.
- Once everything is ready, hit the green Cook button under the pot. A timer will appear above the pot, and when it is done, go near it and press E to collect your finished ice cream.
As you add ingredients, they will appear on the chalkboard and add to the timer above, so you know how long the food will be cooking. If you want to skip the wait, you can pay 39 Robux to speed it up, though cooking takes at least five minutes.
Conclusion
Ice cream is one of the easier recipes to make in Grow a Garden, and with the Cooking Kit now a permanent fixture, you can cook it whenever you want. Pick your rarity, gather the right ingredients, and let the pot do the rest
