How to Get a Fishing Rod in Blox Fruits
Learn how to get a fishing rod in Blox Fruits, where to find the Fisherman NPC, and how to start fishing across all three seas.

Fishing was added to Blox Fruits in Update 27 as a side activity. It lets you catch fish, reel in rare items, and even earn XP while you're at it, making it a solid alternative to grinding combat.
To get started, you need a fishing rod. The basic Fishing Rod is free, obtained by talking to the Fisherman NPC, who is available in all three seas. A lot of players aren't sure where to find him or how the whole system works, especially if they're new to fishing in Blox Fruits.
In this article, we'll explore exactly how to get a fishing rod in Blox Fruits, where to find the Fisherman NPC in each sea, and what you need to know before you cast your first line.

Where to Find the Fisherman NPC

The Fisherman NPC is available in all three seas, so you can grab the rod no matter how far into the game you are.
In the First Sea, he's at the docks of Frozen Village. In the Second Sea, head to Docks 2 on the Kingdom of Rose Island. In the Third Sea, you'll find him at the Main Docks of Port Town.
Once you interact with the Fisherman, he'll hand you the Fishing Rod for free. He'll also give you some Basic Bait to get started, and talking to him unlocks the Fisherman title. After you run out of bait, you can buy more from him directly through his shop.

Equip your fishing rod and stand near the ocean or a river. Click to cast your line, then wait for a red exclamation mark to appear above your character. Click again to start the minigame.
Two bars appear on screen. The bottom bar tracks your catch progress. If it empties, the fish gets away. The top bar has a fish icon moving side to side and a floating box you control. Hold or release the button to move the box and keep the fish icon inside it. Hold until the bottom bar fills to land the catch.
Rarer fish move faster, so the minigame gets harder as you go after higher rarity catches. Each successful catch also gives you 25% of the XP needed to level up, meaning four catches equal one full level. It's a solid way to progress without grinding combat.

How to Get Better Fishing Rods
The basic Fishing Rod works fine early on, but it limits what you can catch. To upgrade, you need to reach Fishing Level 20 first by catching fish regularly. Once you hit that level, you can interact with the Angler NPC.
The Angler is available in all three seas. You can find him at the bottom of Skylands in the First Sea, at the Green Zone docks in the Second Sea, and at Hydra Island in the Third Sea.
Completing his quests builds your Trust level, which unlocks better rods and bait. The quests start simple, like catching a common fish or landing three perfect catches, but they get harder as your Trust increases. Each quest has a cooldown of 15 minutes, so plan your sessions around that.
Conclusion
Getting a fishing rod in Blox Fruits is straightforward. Talk to the Fisherman NPC in any sea, and you're set. As you level up and complete Angler quests, better rods and bait become available, making it easier to catch rarer fish and reel in better loot.
