The Forge has a handful of NPCs with side quests, and the Bard is one of the first you'll come across. He sits right by a campfire near the spawn area in Stonewake's Cross, next to Maria's Potion Shop. Talk to him, and he'll send you off to find his lost guitar.
The guitar is tucked inside a hidden cave just after you enter The Cave, with the entrance concealed behind a wall of leaves, which makes it easy to walk straight past if you don't know what you're looking for. Completing the quest rewards you with an Unknown Key, which unlocks access to the Fallen Angel's Cave and the Arcane Pickaxe.

Where to Find the Bard's Guitar
Before anything else, make sure you talk to the Bard first and accept his quest. If you skip this step, you can stand on top of the guitar all day, and nothing will happen.
Once the quest is active, enter The Cave and head to the first crossing near the NPCs. Go left, passing Umut the Brave, and stop at the dirt patch. Run into the moss-covered ground, and you'll drop down into the Secret Cave.
Walk toward the skeleton inside the cave, and beside it, you'll find the Bard's Guitar. Press E to pick it up, then take the ladder back up to the main cave.

The Forge Bard's Guitar Quest Rewards
Returning the guitar to the Bard rewards you with three things:
- XP
- 1,000 cash
- Unknown Key
The XP and cash are straightforward, but the Unknown Key is the real reason to do this quest. It unlocks a gate inside the cave that leads to the Fallen Angel's Cave, where the Arcane Pickaxe is located.
The Arcane Pickaxe is the best pickaxe available in Stonewake's Cross and the most expensive. It is also the only pickaxe before the Demonic Pickaxe with three rune slots. If you're planning to progress further into the game, getting this pickaxe early makes a noticeable difference.
