What is the Jungle Biome?
The Jungle Biome is the 5th biome added to 99 Nights in the Forest. It was released on March 1, 2026, and introduced a new area on the map with new enemies, temples, and features to explore.
You can tell you've entered the biome when the grass turns significantly darker and large tropical plants start appearing around you. The area is also noticeably harder to navigate than the regular forest. Visibility is low due to dense plants and boulders, and the most common enemy, the Boar, is tougher than a Wolf.
The main draw of the biome is the temple system. There are five temples in total, four surrounding a central Mother Temple, each with loot, traps, and obstacles to work through. Completing them is how you get the best rewards the biome has to offer.
To access the Jungle Biome, you need to upgrade your Campfire to at least Level 3, with full access unlocked at Level 6. It's not a biome you want to rush into early without the right preparation.

Enemies in the Jungle Biome
The Jungle Biome has a few enemies you need to watch out for.
- Boars are the most common. They behave like wolves but have more HP and hit harder. The dense terrain makes them easy to miss until it's too late, so stay alert. They drop Morsel and Steak when killed.
- Jungle Cultists carry either a Poison Spear or a Blowpipe, and their armor deals damage to anyone who hits them in melee. Use a ranged weapon against them.
- Poison Frogs are spread across the biome. They're not new to the game, but this is the first time they appear outside of the Frog Invasion event.
- The Cat is the most dangerous enemy in the biome. spawns at night after Day 4. It works similarly to the Ram, but instead of charging, it jumps and lands in front of the player. Getting too close when it jumps or lands will deal damage to you. If you run into it, retreat to your campfire.
- The Mossy Mammoth is passive and won't attack unless provoked.
How to Complete the Mother Temple
The Mother Temple sits at the center of the Jungle Biome and requires 4 Skull Trial Stones to open its basement. Here's how to get them and what to do with them.
There are four Jungle Temples located roughly north, south, east, and west of the Mother Temple. Each one has a basement with a short obstacle course full of blowdart traps. Complete the lobby, and you'll find a Vine Chest and 1 Skull Trial Stones. Clear all four temples, and you'll have everything you need.
Once you have all 4 Skull Trial Stones, head to the Mother Temple and place them on the pedestals to unlock the basement. Inside, you'll find Cultist Gems, Gem of the Forest fragments, and one Jungle Chest that can contain Poison Armor or Poison Claws. The Jungle Chest can only be opened once per player.
